Alter’s 1/8 Ui Hirasawa
Finally another new post – this time with an actual new figure! I know I’ve been rather behind for the most part on reviewing new ones, so here’s one for everyone that just came in a couple weeks ago! Ui Hirasawa, the adorable Yui’s younger loving sister! ~
I finally have a new light after finding the other one on the floor, shattered, about a month and a half ago. It was mounted to the desk I do the photoshoots on, but it apparently finally had enough and the spring that would hold it in place broke, thus breaking the entire contraption and leaving the light itself on the floor… well, in pieces. So between the retail craziness and relaxing at home, I finally got myself out to the store to get a new light.
So I couldn’t wait to get my October and November orders in – everything from October ended up being delayed, so I had an extra heavy order come in at the start of this month. Ui is the one I’ve experimented with here, and I’m glad the pictures came out halfway decent. She’s absolutely adorable, though, so of course you can’t really do wrong when it comes to taking pictures of her. =3
She’s one of the more simple figures for this year that I’ve ordered, but I think it suits her well. The simple pose is still rather cute, and the ribbon hanging from her mouth adds a wonderful touch.
I love the folds and wrinkles in her jacket, too. They could’ve easily been lazy here but they really put in detail where they could, despite the simple sculpt.
I really like the few loose strands of hair too!
Her base continues the Alter K-on! set very nicely. It leaves me wondering if they’ll be making more of the girls too.
Nice details in the hair.
From the back – I found it interesting, too, that her nails are skin tone. I guess she doesn’t paint them? I never noticed in the manga or show.
I’m glad they didn’t let any issues come through with forming the small strands of hair, unlike MF’s 1/7 Hatsune Miku earlier this year.
I also think they did a rather nice job on her legs.
And her panties, surprise surprise, are white. After they made Mio’s white in the same line, though, I guess nothing else should be expected.
I know a couple people that said her yellow ribbon looks like a noodle. I have to agree somewhat there, but I don’t think it necessarily looks really bad. From further away – at about normal viewing distance, it looks just fine.
I need to try out more angles with her later. She’s so cute from just about every position, though. They really did a nice job with her.
But wait, doesn’t she come with a mini Yui too?
She does! And mini Yui is adorable~. <3 Her miniature base has two speech bubbles – one on the left that says ‘うーいー、うーいー’ “Ui–Ui–”, and the other on the right that says ‘あいすー’ “Ice–”(Ice cream). It’s from (I believe) the seventh episode of the first season, when Yui’s rolling around whining to Ui that she wants ice cream, but Ui won’t let her have any until after dinner. ~ When I saw the base I remembered the scene and could hear her whining, haha.
I think she’s just adorable. =3
Last picture!
I’m really glad they decided to incorporate Ui into the group of K-on! figures, personally speaking. I really wanted to have at least one good scaled figure of Ui since I really love the interaction between the sisters in the series. My all time wish as far as K-on figures go, though, would be to have a set with Yui and Ui from the winter episode where they’re sharing a scarf. It would be amazing! But until then, of course, this figure is good too. =3
Until next time!~

I only have Alter Yui and Tsumugi due to space constraints but Ui is looking good here…however the main reason if I were to ever get it would be for Yui! That chibi Yui is just adorable and I have the dam GIF in my computer where she keeps rolling about. XD
